Rebook (Move Tickets)
Plans change. A customer books Friday and can only make Saturday; a session gets rescheduled and everyone needs shifting; someone bought for the wrong night. Rebooking moves a booking’s tickets from one session to another by the same artist, without cancelling and re-selling.
The original tickets are cancelled and fresh ones are issued for the new session — so the customer keeps their booking, and both sessions’ numbers stay correct.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”Go to Ticketing → Bookings, find the booking, and choose Rebook (Move Tickets) from its row menu.
Choosing the new session
Section titled “Choosing the new session”The Rebook Tickets page opens with the booking’s reference in the title, and shows you the customer, the artist, the session they’re currently on, and a summary of the tickets to move — quantity, category and price paid.
Below that is every session you can move them to. A session appears in that list when it:
- is by the same artist — rebooking never moves a customer to a different act;
- is currently On Sale; and
- is ticketed through Funny Little Shows.
The session they’re already on is excluded, and the rest are listed in showtime order with the venue.
Reading the availability
Section titled “Reading the availability”Each session card shows how it fares against this particular booking, category by category:
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| ✓ Available (12) | That category has room, with 12 left |
| ✗ Only 1 available | Not enough room for the tickets you’re moving |
| ’VIP’ category not available | The destination session has no category with that name |
| Price: $35.00 → $40.00 | The category costs a different amount on the new session |
A session that can’t take the whole booking is shown with a red border and can’t be selected — it stays visible with the reason, so you can see how close it was.
Money is not adjusted
Section titled “Money is not adjusted”This is the part to be certain about before you click.
Settling up, if you want to, is a separate manual step:
- Moved to a cheaper session — raise a partial refund for the difference against the booking.
- Moved to a dearer session — take the difference however you normally would, or absorb it as the cost of accommodating the customer.
The booking fee is unaffected either way: the rate charged on the original sale carries across, and moving sessions doesn’t re-charge fees.
Making the move
Section titled “Making the move”- Select the session you’re moving the booking to. The Rebook Tickets button stays disabled until you pick one.
- Add Notes if you want — why the move happened, who asked. Optional, but it’s what the next person reads.
- Click Rebook Tickets and confirm. Where prices differ, the confirmation restates that the difference won’t be settled automatically.
- Send the customer their new tickets. Back on the Bookings list, use Resend Booking Email on that booking.
Step 4 matters. Rebooking doesn’t email anyone — see What the customer sees below.
What happens when you confirm
Section titled “What happens when you confirm”- The original tickets are cancelled, each one stamped with the reference of the ticket that replaced it, so the trail is intact.
- New tickets are issued for the new session, with new ticket references and new QR codes.
- The seats go back on sale on the original session and are taken on the new one, so both sessions’ sold counts and capacity are right immediately.
- The move is written to the booking’s Notes and its timeline — who did it, both showtimes, how many tickets, and anything you typed in Notes.
Only tickets currently Sold are moved. Cancelled or refunded tickets stay as they are, and a booking with no sold tickets left can’t be rebooked at all.
What the customer sees
Section titled “What the customer sees”Nothing, until you tell them.
Rebooking sends no email. What it does do is delete the cached ticket PDF, so the old document — with the old date, venue and QR code — stops working. Their new tickets exist in the system, but they don’t have them.
So finish the job: use Resend Booking Email on the booking to send the ticket through with the new session’s details. Until you do, the customer is holding tickets that won’t scan for a session they’re no longer booked on.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”Rebooking is covered by Edit bookings — the same permission as ordinary booking edits. Anyone who can edit a booking can move it to another session.
